WSSU, The Higher School of Applied Arts



The Higher School of Applied Arts was established in 1995 and it is the first visual fine arts college in Western Pomerania ( North-Western Poland).It gathers among its staff lecturers from the Szczecin milieu as well as a great number of professors from the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań.The Higher School of Applied Arts is a private institution, offering instruction to approximately 200 students annualy. Preparing its students to the professional careers in graphic design and interior architecture the school believes that the skills and knowledge obtained in specialized studios should be based on very solid foundation of mastering basic fine arts - drawing, painting and sculpture.This refers both to the workshop skills and the intellectual and creative development of the student.The School assists and stimulates the artistic activity of its students, organizing open-air workshops, exhibitions, encourages young people to participate in competitions.The old XIX - century building in which the school is located will undergo restoration during the summer of 2007. Friendly atmosphere, close student-teacher relations, the quality of teaching contribute to growth and the development of the college.
